For over 20 years Nina Torres has been actively participating in the international art market, specializing in Modern and Contemporary Art. During her career, she has created, developed and implemented successful art and cultural programs for corporate, government and private organizations in Mexico, USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Nina has curated and overseen nearly 300 exhibitions at international venues around the world including England, Mexico, Singapore, Belgium, Spain, The Netherlands, Monaco, France, Italy, Thailand and the USA with permanent projects in Miami and upcoming projects in Dubai, Paris, Venice, Greece, Lake Como, Austria, Portugal, Barcelona, New York, Russia and Marbella.
Nina Torres is the Founder and Executive Director since 2012 of the Miami River Art Fair the first waterfront art fair during Art Basel Miami week paving the way for the Arts in Downtown-Brickell area in Miami.
Also, in 2009 Nina founded FCA Foundation of Contemporary Art, a non- profit cultural foundation with the mission to explore the rich diversity of cultures, focusing in the presentation and celebration of heritage via artistic and entertainment activities.
Currently, Nina is the Director and Chief Curator of Nina Torres Art Productions and has partnered with the Nina Torres Fine Art, the Foundation of Contemporary Art, the Miami River Commission to foster and encourage art in public spaces, with the James L. Knight International Center to exhibit a permanent collection of artist from the roster of the NTFA and during two years was open a permanent exhibition at the Conrad Hotel and currently is open at the Hyatt Centric Boutique Hotel Miami.
NEW YORK EXPERIENCE
Nina founded in New York the Latin American Art Consulting, working closely with foundations, museums, auction houses, collectors, galleries and dealers to further the spread of Latin American Art. LAAC’s main goal is to promotes the dissemination of Latin American Art in the international market
After 11 years in New York working with corporate collections and worldwide projects, in 2010 Nina inaugurates Nina Torres Fine Art in the Wynwood Area Miami and in December of 2011 inaugurates her new location at the 1800 Club in the Arts & Entertainment District as the only waterfront gallery to offer special projects that inject curatorial values in a space for cultural exchange.
After 12 years as the Executive Director and Chief Curator, I will continue to curate exhibitions around the world under the umbrella of the World Tour of Contemporary Art with the goal of providing new perspectives on global contemporary art practices and trends.
During in Mexico, Nina founded & directed De Ville Galleries in Mexico City, where she sold major works of art from Latin America Masters, promoted emerging artists and advised corporate and private collectors. A second gallery was opened in Cuernavaca, Mexico followed by several private exhibitions in De Ville’s office in the World Trade Center in New York.
She has also served as the Director of Public Relations for the Mexican Government at Europalia in Brussels, Belgium on a project to promote Mexican Culture and business throughout the European Community.
Remaining in government, Nina became the Director of Cultural Promotion for Mexico City; a role that involved the promotion of Mexico and its rich cultural heritage to the people of Mexico City via the organization of major cultural events such as art festivals and outdoor concerts. She also created cultural exchange programs for Mexico City with Monaco, Thailand and Vienna, Austria and oversaw all cultural events for guest foreign dignitaries.
Nina was then appointed the Director of the Mexico City Film Commission. Here she promoted Mexico City and its competitive resources to producers and directors of the world’s motion picture industry and secured the filming of major projects such as Titanic, The Mask of Zorro and the Game.
Moving to the private sector, Nina became the Director of Special Events at TV Azteca, the second largest TV station in Mexico. A position to design internal cultural and sporting events to raise productivity and create a positive corporate environment among the 4,000 workforce and their families.
Nina has been awarded as Miami Women of Impact 2012, in 2013 as Top Entrepreneur by Negocios Magazine and the Best 100 Mexicanos en el Exterior, on 2014 was selected as Art Ambassador Damas de Lincoln of Lincoln Motor Company, 2015 names Honorary Member by Foedus Foundation at the Vatican City during her meeting with Su Santidad Papa Francisco and received a recognition by the International Networks of Social Journalism. Nina has been featured on several newspapers and magazine as Art Bahrain, Brickell Magazine, Art Bodega, The Best of Miami on Miami Today, The Miami Herald and
E.20.20 Emprendedores by Miami Diario among others.
On 2021 she mas awarded as the Entrepreneur of the year by the Latin America Business Association.
